Maine Lobsterman's Insurance Program

International Special Risks (ISR)  has a long tradition of developing insurance products and solutions for the maritime industry.  We know that the lobstering industry can be challenging.  Finding the right insurance doesn’t need to be.

For more than 20 years, lobstermen have trusted their boats to ISR.  Our Lobsterman’s Insurance Program offers these important protections:

  • Physical damage coverage for your lobster boat
  • Liability for bodily injury to your crew or others
  • Liability for physical damage to the property of others
  • Liability to the United States or to any Claimant imposed under Section 1002 of the Oil Pollution Act of 16 1990 (Public Law 101-380, as amended)
  • Loss of Use

Program Highlights

  • Coverage to loss or damage to your boat caused by the perils of the sea such as stranding, sinking, striking a submerged object, heavy weather, fire, lightning and explosion while in designated waters

  • Coverage for breaking of shafts or any latent defect in the machinery or hull (excluding the cost and expense of replacing or repairing the defective part)
